Spy×Family 11
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis
A worried and annoyed Anya watches her cartoons as Twilight looks at her failing grades. When her show is over, Anya protests having to study and do homework. She internally cites her failure to read the correct minds during the test for her failure. Twilight considers ways to falsely give Anya better grades. However, he reasons that this would cause suspicion and hatred toward Anya. Anya reads this in his mind and is worried.
As such, Twilight tries to find something outside of strict academics where Anya can excel and earn a Stella. Unfortunately, Anya sucks at everything. Instead, Twilight opts for civil service by volunteering at a local hospital with Anya. Here too, Anya sucks at everything. The head nurse kicks them out. However, as they leave, Anya senses a boy in the rehab pool drowning. She races back to find him. In her attempt to rescue him, Anya nearly drowns. Twilight saves both. As a result, Anya is awarded a Stella for her actions.
At school, Anya proudly wears her Stella star. She wants Becky to address her as Starlight Anya. Nevertheless, her classmates continue to shun Anya. At lunch, Becky asks if Anya is going to request a reward. After much discussion, Anya comes home and asks for a dog. Twilight agrees. Elsewhere at a sketchy kennel, a big, dirty, white dog has a vision of the Forger family. Meanwhile, Anya decides which dog she wants.
Thoughts/Review
More Anya goodness awaits in Spy×Family 11. And we get introduced to some new faces for Anya. 😂
School and Work
I completely sympathize with Anya in Spy×Family 11. I never liked school, and I absolutely despised homework and studying. But I didn’t have Anya’s mind reading abilities. As such, I laughed at how Anya planned to avoid studying by figuring out which classmate was good at what subject. Then during tests, Anya would read their minds for the answers. 😂 At least the fear of being shunned changed her mind there.
When it came to work, Anya has that similar notion — it is more fun to goof off than to get stuff done. And even when she attempted to work, she was always messing up. On this aspect, Twilight should have been more involved. I get that the story is trying to be comedic in showing Anya to be clumsy. But really, this is easily overcome. I know ’cause I went to work with my dad at a very young age.
Starlight Anya
I suppose I can’t be too hard on the Anya working situation. The lady at the hospital in Spy×Family 11 seemed pretty incompetent. I think if I left a boy in the hospital’s rehab pool room, I’d do a cursory check of said pool when the boy turned up missing.
That aside, the boy’s panicked thoughts were strong enough for Anya to hear. And this is were we see that Anya isn’t stupid. Anya is desperate to keep her telepathy a secret. So she’s able to quickly invent a story that will get the results she needs without revealing her secret. In this light, if Anya applied herself, she’d get good marks in school.
Regardless, Anya saves the boy’s life and earns a Stella. Anya’s pride at this made me laugh. Now Becky has to address Anya as “Starlight Anya”. Further, Anya’s fantasy of how things would go with Damian were also amusing. Life never goes the way one imagines.
Finally, Anya requests a dog. Clearly, it will be the big, dirty, white dog. Still, Anya reading the minds of Yor and Twilight about dogs made me laugh out loud, especially Yor’s thoughts.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Spy×Family 11 contains more Anya goodness. Shame there’s only one more episode, but I do have the manga from (crappy) Viz. We should get to see the dog though.
anya’s literally the best XD
